UK Development Officer

About the Role

Epic is looking for a self-starter to grow, engage and manage our UK community of Epic Pledgers.  

Epic Pledgers are a community of entrepreneurs and investors who want to have an outstanding social impact by embedding  purpose into their success. They do so by signing the Epic Pledge and committing a % of their carried interest, management fees or or equity  to social good, and more specifically to the outstanding organisations of the Epic portfolio.  The current pledger community consists of 200+ pledgers around the world. 

The Epic Pledge is central to Epic’s development and an exciting new avenue for change since investors and entrepreneurs are more and more eager to share their success. We are looking for a Development Officer, working hand in hand with the Director of UK,  who can play a key role in growing Epic’s social impact in the UK. 

Key Responsibilities

1- Growing the UK pledger community. The Development Officer will participate in establishing the development strategy for the Epic Pledge. They will be in charge of growing the community, which involves proactive cold outreach, participation in in-person and digital networking, pitching the pledge, and getting prospects to sign the Epic Pledge.  

2 – Managing and nurturing the  Epic Pledger community. We want to build a strong community of pledgers who are tight-knit, and can share their commitment to social good. Since the pledge can take years to be fulfilled, we need to make sure that the community remains close to Epic’s work and mission. The Development Officer will both have to nurture the relationships with individual pledgers through regular touchpoints and engage the community through the coordination of  events and webinars, working hand in hand with the marketing team.  

3 – Team support. In order to reach our ambitious fundraising targets, the Development Officer will play a support role to the rest of the UK team (Director of UK and Chief Engagement Officer) by doing prospect research (e.g. on individuals, sectors…etc.) and managing the database. 

Who are we looking for?

  • 3+ years experience in sales, business development or fundraising roles
  • Outgoing self-starter who is enthusiastic and able to promote the work we do and convince people to join us 
  • A team player with the ability to work across diverse and international team, with a startup and flexible attitude 
  • Demonstrates commitment to Epic’s vision and mission. Ideally knowledge and experience on issues around nonprofits and philanthropy. Understanding of non profit donors is a plus
  • Exposure to the UK/global startup and/or funds ecosystem is a plus 
  • Rigorous, organized and attentive to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Knowledge of French is a plus
  • Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) is a plus


This is a full-time position, based in our London offices with the possibility of some remote days per week. Benefits include healthcare, 25 days of annual leave + days off between December 24th – Jan 1st. Support for maternity and paternity leave. 

Gross salary between 30-40K depending on experience.
