The French selective beauty company commits one million Euros over the next three years to support NYC-based global nonprofit startup Epic Foundation

April 7, 2015 (New York, NY) – Bertrand and Mathilde Thomas, Founders of the globally renowned skincare brand and Vinotherapie spas Caudalie, announced today a commitment of one million Euros to support Epic Foundation. The Foundation is a new global not-for-profit startup that bridges the gap between a new generation of individual and corporate donors and organizations supporting children and youth.

Caudalie is historically a major donor to environmental causes and has been a member of "One Percent for the Planet" since 2012.

Bertrand and Mathilde Thomas decided to enlarge Caudalie’s charitable commitment and support Epic Foundation, founded and led by Alexandre Mars. Their mission is to partner and focus on fighting inequities faced by children and youth around the world. Epic Foundation selects NGOs and social enterprises that enhances education, economic empowerment, health, rights and protection for children and youth across the United States, East Africa, Southeast Asia, Western Europe, Brazil and India.

The donation, which will be dispersed over a period of three years, will go to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and social enterprises in Epic Foundation’s selected portfolio of organizations supporting children and youth.

After receiving 1,400 applications from 85 countries in 2015, Alexandre and his team will select the first portfolio of organizations through a three-stage selection process. They’ll analyze 45 factors across the organization's social impact, operations, and leadership.

The organization is a “pure” not-for-profit, enabling one hundred percent of Caudalie’s donation to go directly to organizations in Epic Foundation’s portfolio.

“Young people around the world are facing numerous challenges to meet their potential. This commitment will make a tremendous difference. As more and more companies practice social responsibility as part of their business models, we are truly excited to partner with Caudalie and provide our innovative tools at no charge,” said Alexandre.

As a member of “One Percent for the Planet,” the company donates 1% of its annual net revenues to environmental organizations worldwide.
